Effects of electroacupuncture at the points of Stomach meridian on the gastric motion and its influence on the expressions of GFAP,OX_(42) in dorsal vagal comple of rats

Objective To explore the regulating effects and mechanism of gastric motility by electroacupuncture at the points of Stomach meridian.Meanwhile,to detect effects of astrosyte(AS) and microglia cells on the gastric motility. Methods Using synchronized experimental methods, the points Zusanli(ST36),Shangjuxu(ST37),and some non-acupoint were acupunctured by electroacupuncture. As and microglia cells changes were observed, which existed in dorsal vagal complex(DVC) of medullary visceral zone(MVZ) were closely related with pain.Immunonhistochemistry assay was introduced to stain glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP) and OX42 by ABC.Using series coating method, gastroelectric activity changes were recorded. Results Compared with acupunctured at other acupoint in Stomach meridian, acupunctured at Zusanli(ST36) could significantly change the microglia cells in DVC and gastro-electric activity. Conclusion Electroacupuncture at the points of Stomach meridian could modulate gastric motility and this modulating effects is closely related with pain.
