Switched planar hexagonal array of equilateral triangle patches for HIPERLAN terminals

An array antenna which is a planar hexagonal array with six equilateral triangle patches is proposed in this paper. It can be switch controlled with active and parasitic elements in order to direct the beam over 360/spl deg/ beam scan angle in 60/spl deg/ increments. The main radiation field range of elevation of the antenna is from 20/spl deg/ to 70/spl deg/ and the central working frequency is 5.22GHz, which are suitable for HIPERLAN terminals.
