System and method for allocating resource in a communication system

A system and a method for allocating resources in a communication system are provided to effectively assign an ACK/NACK(Acknowledge/Non-Acknowledge) channel for a normal packet and a fixing packet when the normal packet and the fixing packet exist. If packets of the first type to be transmitted through the nth frame and packets of the second type are generated, a feedback area for receiving a message for checking whether to receive the packets and the first and second types is allocated to each packet(601). The generated packets of the first type and the second type are transmitted to a mobile station. When one packet is not generated among the packets of the second type in the n+1 frame, a message that the feedback area is empty is transmitted to the mobile station(607).
