Fuzzy inference and its applicability to control systems

Abstract Two fuzzy reasoning methods: the linguistic synthesis method and a new model are studied by being applied to construct fuzzy controllers to a second-order, nonlinear system-Cart-pole system. In the former method, several implication operators are used. In order to investigate the applicabilities and robustnesses of these two methods, the parameters of the controlled process are changed. The advantages of the new model are shown through the procedure of generating the fuzzy controller and the results of fuzzy control system.
