Graphical Analysis of the Step Response of Hydraulic Servomechanisms

The closed loop hydraulic servomechanism is analysed graphically. The fluid is assumed to be incompressible.Electrical and mechanical feedbacks are considered and the effect of feedback on the system step response is demonstrated. Viscous and Coloumb friction forces and inertia and spring loads are considered. A non-linear valve area-displacement characteristic is shown to have a considerable effect on the response.
