LONGITUDINAL CRITICAL CURRENTS IN COLD‐DRAWN SUPERCONDUCTING ALLOYS

Examination of critical currents in Nb- Zr, Mo- Re, and Ta- Ti cold- drawn superconducting wires operating in magnetic fields parallel to the superconducting transport current reveals that maximum longitudinal currents in the NbZr alloys occur at 20 to 30 kgauss, one sample showing a 480 amp current at 25 kgauss.
