Display apparatus, host device and control method thereof

A display device for recognizing an operation system of a host, a host apparatus and a control method are provided to recognize the operation system of the host apparatus and output signal transmitted from a host apparatus according to output setting value. A display interface(110) receives video signal and speech signal from an external host apparatus. A signal processing unit(120) processes the video signal and the voice signal received from the host apparatus. A controller(130) outputs output setting values corresponding to host information including the operating system of the host apparatus and host information. The host apparatus processes generated image in reference with EDID(Extended Display Identification Data) information which is the characteristic information of the display device through the operation operating system and the host information.
