Incorporation of Switching Operations in Power System Corrective Control Computations

system, the latter representing an actual high-voltage net¬ work. The stability/instability borderline determined by these indexes show excellent agreement with those obtained from conventional stability analysis programs using the same load model. A computer program has been developed which evaluates those indexes for a fault near each (or specified list of) generator(s) in one run. Evaluation of all indexes for the above-mentioned medium-sized network (after computing the steady-state load flow) takes less time than computing the load flow. It is thus easily implementable for on-line evaluation of the overall system stability. Discussers: A. A. Fouad, V. Vittal, Y. Xue, Th. Van Cutsem, and M. Ribbens-Pavella
