High-SNR performance of amplify-and-forward communication systems with fixed-gain relays

Novel and simple asymptotic expressions are derived for the outage and the error probabilities of dual-hop AF systems with fixed-gain relay in Rayleigh fading channels. They reveal the diversity order of these systems, which has not been known previously.
