Research on the Control Strategy of Modular Multilevel Converter

The paper conducted a theoretical analysis and experimental research on the modulation strategy, capacitor voltage control strategy as well as capacitor pre-charge control strategy of modular multilevel converter (MMC). According to the mathematical model of MMC, The combination of CPS-SPWM modulation strategy and capacitor voltage balancing algorithm based on selection of sub-modules is proposed. The control methods are tested with the help of Matlab/Simulink.
