Abstract A study was conducted on the surface properties of “agot” grade artificial nuclear graphite by determination of the adsorption isotherms of nitrogen and argon at 77 and 90 K. From the respective values of parameter C of the BET equation it is inferred that the isotherms obtained belong to type II of the BDDT classification. The adsorption isotherms of nitrogen performed at 77 and 90 K show two crossing points; one in the zone of low relative pressures and the other practically coinciding with the volume calculated for the monolayer.
