[Invited] Ultra-High-Capacity Weakly Coupled Mode-Division-Multiplexed Transmission

Mode division multiplexing (MDM) is attractive for increasing the transmission capacity. This paper reviewed weakly-coupled MDM techniques as approaches for reducing MIMO complexity. In addition, we present demonstration results of 402.7-Tb/s weakly-coupled 10-mode-multiplexed transmission.
