Dual-Mode Motor Control Scheme for Electric Motorcycle

The purpose of this paper is to design a dual-mode motor control scheme for electric motorcycle that can automatically switch the motor control scheme to sensorless field-oriented control when the Hall element is detected a fault by a real-time self-test program. In addition, the main content of this essay is described that how to use the sliding mode state observer to estimate the rotor position of the motor, how to start the sensorless control mode at zero motor speed and how to switch the control mode in a reasonable condition by self-checking the Hall element. At the same time, the hardware scheme and software algorithm are designed. The experimental results show that the designed electric motorcycle motor control system is reasonable and feasible, and has high practicality.
