Seawater flow characteristic analysis for shroud geometry variations with tidal current generation turbine has been carried out through numerical simulation. The vortex flow area in the diffuser part of the shroud becomes broader with the increase of diffuser length, but its recirculation velocity decreases. Seawater flow velocity around the turbine is increased by installation of shroud. The space among streamlines of wake in the backside of shrouded turbine and the wake range grow with diffuser angle. The results in this study will be applicable for optimal design of tidal current generation system.
