Design orientated model and application of electronic ballasts for two toroidal ferrite coupled electrodeless lamps

Based on basic theories of transformer, a simplified design orientated model of two toroidal fertile coupled electrodeless fluorescent lamps along with their electronic ballasts is proposed. Based on this model, frequency domain analysis and design of the electronic ballasts for electrodeless lamps is investigated. The effect of the exciter coils of the electrodeless lamps in electronic ballasts is investigated, and some important characteristics are formulated and compared with that in electroded lamp ballasts. Simulating results of the model are compared with and verified by experimental results
