Engineering computer-based systems: meeting the challenge

Embedded computers in system products have become pervasive. As Engineering of Computer-Based Systems (ECBS) assumes a greater role in computing-product development, engineers face increasing pressure to resolve the challenges of disparate architectures, long interdisciplinary system life cycles, method and tool incompatibility, and spiraling complexity.
