Controlling a Distribution Conveyor by a Dedicated Microprocessor

Abstract The paper describes an industrial application to setup a microcomputer system to perform a real time control of the last part of a production line of wash-leathers. The line consists of a measuring unit linked to a conveyor to perform an automatic distribution into packaging units of the leathers depending on measuring values. The small 8-bit microcomputer controls the whole section : i.e. measuring unit, conveyor transport, unloading mechanism and furthermore the account of the number of stored units.
