A new method for analysis of multicompartmented fabric filtration

Abstract Pilot scale research which led to development of a mathematical model describing the operation of three compartment parallel flow baghouses, is described. The model is shown to accurately relate loading of the gas being filtered, dust permeability, and time elapsed between successive compartment cleaning operations to the resulting drag (inherent resistance to flow) of the filtering medium and pressure drop across the medium. The potential usefulness of the principles involved is discussed.
