Study of Lu-Hf geochemical tracing and LA-ICPMS U-Pb isotopic dating of the Sumdo eclogite from the Lhasa block, Tibet

An at least 60kin long and 2km~3km wide eclogite belt was recently discovered in the Lhasa block, which is located near Sumdo village about 200km east of the Lhasa city,Tibet. The Lu-Hf geochemical tracing and isotopic dating of zircons from the Sumdo eclogite gave a very even Lu-Hf isotopic composition and uniform age.All the zircons have the similar composition with higher ~(176)Hf/~(177)Hf (0.2829651~0.2830295 ) and lower ~(176)Lu/~(177)Hf (0.000002~0.000008 ),which is probably related to its metamorphism and the formation of garnet during the metamorphism. The value of e_(Hf)(0) is between 6.8 and 10.0,which indicates that there is a significant input from the depleted mantle during the metamorphism.LA-ICPMS U-Pb dating of zircons from the eclogite yielded an average metamorphic age of 260±16Ma,indicating that there exist Permian HP/UHP(?) metamorphic belt in the Lhasa terrane.
