The CCITT-Specification and Description Language SDL

Abstract SDL has been designed to specify and describe the functional behaviour of telecommunication systems. It has been used in a variety of fields, including data communication protocol specification. This paper briefly explains the basic concepts of the latest version of the language, known as SDL88, as it has been recommended by CCITT in 1987.
