According the user context releasing method, the base station and the femtocell gateway, the problem in the correlative technology, after an X2 switchover process, the source base station transmits redundant signals instructing the femtocell gateway to release the user terminal context is solved, so that the service efficiency of the signals instructing the femtocell gateway to release the user terminal context is improved, and expenditure needed by transmitting of the signals instructing the femtocell gateway to release the user terminal context is effectively reduced.
