Druckverteilung unter Forstreifen

On the basis of a market analysis, the contact area pressure of 70 forest tires commonly used in Germany was statically measured in Gottingen. The tire inflation pressure and hydraulically simulated wheel load were systematically varied. In order to include the areas between the tread, the pressure was measured under a 20 cm thick sand layer. The cross sections of the bell-shaped pressure distributions can be smoothed by an e-function with excellent accuracy. It is possible to express every pressure distribution with only two model parameters, which presumably can be used as a valid basis for assessing soil conservation and traction ability.
