New Ideas for Microstrip Antennas using Dichroic Structures

Dichroic structures and their uses are briefly reviewed prior to introducing the very recent innovation of printed dichroic microstrip antenna arrays and the advances made. The frequency selective properties of the dichroic surface enable microstrip antenna arrays to be sandwiched together while essentially maintaining their radiation characteristics. Experimental work on the dual frequency microstrip antenna and the approximate analysis to calculate the scattered field from the antenna are noted together With other recent developments and possible applications.
