Model based wireless SAW tag temperature measurement

In this paper, a new algorithm for surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensor based temperature measurement is presented. The used interrogation unit is based on a frequency stepped continuous wave radar (FSCW). The minimum achievable temperature variance is calculated by means of the Cramer Rao lower bound (CRLB). A verification of the results based on measured data is given.
