Pharmacological action and pharmacokinetics of danshensu

Objective To review recent pharmacological action and pharmacokinetics researches of danshensu(DSS) both domestic and abroad so that to promote increasing the level of study.Methods Recent literatures were summarized and analyzed.Results DSS has significant improvement in blood rheology,lipid lowering,inhibition of lipid peroxidation,anti-tumor and other pharmacological activity.A one-compartment first order absorption model could be used to describe the pharmacokinetics of DSS in rabbit after oral administration.Absolute bioavailability was 9.35%.The concentration profile of DSS in different tissues was CkidneyCliverCheartClungCbrainCspleen.Conclusion DSS extracted from Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge.has a good prospect of development for treating coronary heart disease,stroke and other diseases as an active molecule of Chinese medicinal materials.Researches on the pharmacological action and pharmacokinetics have the instruction significance for discovering and modernization of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).
