Universal Properties of Semi-Dilute Polymer Solutions: A Comparison between Experiments and Theory

Recent experiments suggest a universality of constants appearing as amplitudes in the scaling laws for the correlation length and the radius of gyration in the semi-dilute regime of polymer solutions in good solvents. We discuss how these amplitudes can be estimated from the direct renormalization theory of polymer solutions. The obtained values are in good agreement with recent experimental measurements.
