Economical evolution to high availability networks

In this paper, we consider dual-link failure restorability and propose shared mesh path restoration schemes to optimize the spare capacity bandwidth for mesh and hybrid ring-mesh network scenarios. We show that when a limited amount of spare capacity in a shared mesh configuration is deployed in conjunction with existing ring architectures, high availability services can be provided with complete dual-failure restorability.
