Sound Source Visualization System in Reflective Environment Using Time-Reversal Wave

In this paper, we propose a sound source visualization system using time-reversal wave. The proposed system records a sound that is emit in reflective environment using microphone array and visualizes sound sources by performing time-reversed wave propagation simulation. The proposed method has an advantage that reflections of sound can be utilized to visualize a sound source. Moreover, a sound source behind a wall can be visualized in principle. In this paper, the visualization system using time-reversal wave was built, and a visualization experiment was conducted. As a result, it was confirmed that the system can visualize a sound source in reflective environment, and successfully localize its position with small error.
