Detailed transfer matrix method based dynamic model for multisection widely-tunable GCSR lasers

We present a large-signal dynamic model for a sampled grating reflector laser (GCSR) laser which is based on the transfer matrix method (TMM) in combination with multi-mode rate equation analysis and takes into account a number of physical processes in the laser cavity such as longitudinal mode spatial hole burning (SHB), non-linear gain compression, and refractive index changes with carrier injection.
