Performance study of a differential adaptive reservation multiaccess technique for data transmissions

Abstract The performance of an adaptive reservation multiaccess technique is studied in this paper. The concept of differential PCM in digital communications is applied for each user to issue request in demand. Analysis for Poisson inputs, both transient and steady‐state, have been successfully completed. The validity of analysis is also verified by computer simulations. Through examples we witness that this protocol not only shows good performance but also has good adaptability and robustness.
