A direct determination of nitrogen in sulphuric acid digestion mixtures

The micro-determination of nitrogen described is based on a preliminary digestion with sulphuric acid, potassium sulphate and selenium, followed by a direct assay of ammonia in the resultant solution by a phenol-hypochlorite colorimetric method, without previous liberation and distillation of the ammonia.
