The significance of urease in proteus pyelonephritis: A histological and biochemical study

THE concept that urease is a determinant of the virulence for the kidney of urease-positive bacteria is an attractive hypothesis and has been advanced in several studies into the pathogenesis of renal tract infection. Evidence for this hypothesis is drawn from clinical, experimental, and veterinary sources. A
