엔진 흡기밸브 청정성능 평가를 위한 엔진시험법 개발에 관한 연구

The first field problems of fuel injected engines were reported by the reason of intake valve deposit (IVD) in 1985. Intake valve deposit can cause an increasing fuel consumption, exhaust emissions, and power loss as well as driveability problems such as hesitation, poor throttle response, and misfire during the warm-up phase. Various techniques had been tried to solve the problems of IVD since 1980's. .Among them, deposit control additives had been confirmed to be the most effective method and have become an essential feature of modern MPI gasoline. Therefore related engine test methods have been developed for the performance evaluation of IVD control additives. In this paper, it is presented to evaluate fuel and additives on the basis of new engine test method which is developed using domestic engine (Elantra 1.6L DOHC). Furthermore, various engine tests including comparison with BMW vehicle test are executed and explained in order to demonstrate the validity of this IVD engine test method.
