The RADARSAT SAR data processing facility

RESUMELe present article expose les grandes lignes du programme de developpement du systeme canadien de traitement des donnees (SCTD) concu pour traiter les donnees recueillies par le radar a antenne synthetique monte a bord de RADARSAT. Ce nouveau systeme ameliorera sensiblement le systeme existant du Centre canadien de teledetection situe a la station de reception de Gatineau et developpe pour des besoins auxiliaires de traitement des donnees du satellite europeen de teledetection ERS-1 de l'Agence spatiale europeenne. Le systeme traitera les signaux emis par RADARSAT, dans tous les modes de fonctionnement, afin de les transformer en une variete de produits tant standards que speciaux pour de multiples applications. Le SCTD sera mis au point dans le cadre du systeme global RADARSAT, qui comprend notamment le systeme de controle de mission, la plateforme RADARSAT, le systeme de saisie des commandes et les stations receptrices.
