A bstrak PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) sebagai salah satu perusahaan penambangan batu bara terbesar banyak menggunakan peralatan yang berbasis elektronika daya, salah satunya motor yang dilengkapi Variable Speed Drive (VSD yang berfungsi sebagai pengatur kecepatan motor dalam proses produksi. Namun penggunaan VSD dapat menimbulkan masalah kualitas daya yaitu harmonisa. Harmonisa adalah komponen arus maupun tegangan yang memiliki frekuensi kelipatan bilangan bulat dari frekuensi fundamental 50Hz.Salah satu metode untuk mengatasi harmonisa adalah penggunaan filter aktif paralel. Penelitian ini melakukan simulasi penggunaan filter aktif paralel untuk mengurangi harmonisa pada bus MCC-380V Marine 2 Substation PT KPC dengan menggunakan software Matlab/Simulink R2008a. Filter aktif paralel disimulasikan menggunakan rangkaian pembangkit arus VSI 3 fasa dengan control PWM yang dirangkai paralel dengan beban,. Teori daya aktif-reaktif sesaat (p-q theory) digunakan untuk menentukan besar arus kompensasi harmonisa. Keluaran arus kompensasi ini digunakan sebagai sinyal referensi PWM untuk membangkitkan sinyal picu IGBT. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa pemasangan filter aktif paralel dapat memberikan kerja yang baik dalam menurunkan harmonisa sistem. Hasil simulasi THD arus pengukuran sistem sebelum pemasangan filter adalah sebesar 70.1%. Pemasangan filter aktif paralel dapat meredam harmonisa sistem menjadi 10.65%. Selain itu, pemasangan filter aktif paralel mampu memperbaiki faktor daya sistem dari 0.76 menjadi 0.99. Kata kunci: Harmonisa, filter aktif paralel, p-q theory, THD arus A bstract PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) is one of the largest coal miners uses many utilty based on power electrical, one of them is automatic motor control with Variable Speed Drive (VSD used to control motor speed in mining processing specifically for coal production. However VSD makes new problem in power system quality called harmonics. Harmonics is current or voltage component with frequency that are integer multiple of fundamental frequency 50Hz. One possible method to be used to overcame harmonics problem is active power filter This research simulates the use of shunt active power filter (SAPF) to compensate current harmonics in KPC’s power system at 380V-MCC Bus of Marine 2 Substation using Matlab/Simulink R2008a. SAPF simulated using current source circuit VSI with carrier-based PWM strategy, that paralel connected with load. The instantaneous active-reactive power theory (p-q theory) applied to determine the reference compensation current. This current compensation’s output used to be reference signal PWM.The experimental result shows that using SAPF gives satisfactory performance in order to decrease harmonics in power system. Current THD before connection SAPF is 70.1% decrease until 10.65% by connection of SAPF. Furthermore SAPF capable of power factor correction increase the value from 0.76 to 0.99.
