The converging hydrodynamic flow-field between stationery porous and sliding nonporous surfaces has been analysed by finite element method. The analysis also takes into account tangential velocity slip at the interface of fluid film and porous matrix. The computed results which include pressure distribution, load support, and friction force at moving surface are for two types of sliders. The results illustrate fully the effect of porosity and tangential velocity slip on the performance characteristics of the sliders.
