Reconfigurable Fault Tolerant Dual-Winding AC Motor Drive System

This article investigates dual-winding motor drive system configurations exhibiting fault tolerant characteristics. Controlling effectively the power flow is allowed with this configuration even when one leg of the converter is lost. The basic operating principles of the configuration together with the control techniques that are be applicable when the drive system is under fault are presented. Experimental results demonstrating the feasibility of the proposed solution are presented
