This paper is concerned with the distributed generation control method for active power sharing in virtual power plant. The paper explicates the logic algorithms for active power sharing among DG units in order to mitigate transmission losses that contemporize while importing power from main grid. Logic algorithms have been formulated to share active power among DG units in case of fall short of any DG unit to cover its own load so with the help of these logic algorithms other DG units would help to compensate remaining load. Moreover, during variation of load in order to get balance between demand and supply; speed governing control system is utilized to stipulate constant speed operation which brings out stability of system. The focal point of this paper is to trim down transmission losses, reduces operation cost, preserves system frequency, improves system stability and reliability by developing control coordination centre that is responsible for dispatching power of DG units; these DG units are installed near to consumers with fast communication lines hence demands of load can be fulfilled immediately. Simulation results are shown for virtual power plant that reveal the coordination and communication among DG units to allow signals exchange which causes power sharing as well as in the reduction of import power from main grid.
