A reflection on the most important advantage of the computer as a learning device — interaction — is followed by a discussion of the stages involved in the production of learning materials: 1. pedagogical design, 2. screen design, 3. code writing, and 4. review evaluation. The use of authoring languages is discouraged. A vision is given on future hardware, producers, distributors, and users of computer-based learning material.
