The state-machine design for video-on-demand services of interactive home TV

Due to the resource limitation of set-top-box and user's expectation of system response time, we design a state-machine for the video-on-demand service of an interactive home TV. In this state-machine, "waiting" states are added to ensure state transitions are safe during the video-on-demand service. Based on this state-machine, we provide three interactive services on current Taiwan's interactive home TV platform.
