Mathematical Methods for Pattern Recognition

パターン認識とは，信号の空間的・時間的変化として観測されるパターンを，それが属すべきクラスに対応付ける操作のことである．近年のコンピュータ技術の進展に伴い，大規模データを用いた技術開発が可能になり，パターン認識を最適化問題として捉える機械学習的アプローチが一般的となっている．本稿では，パターン認識問題における数理的側面について，大局的な視点で解説する．
