The need for including data security topics in the college business curriculum

The past decade has indeed witnessed the rapid development and proliferation of computers in organizations of all sizes and types. Increasingly, it has been recognized that computing systems can be compromised, resulting in various forms of damage and loss to organizations. The issue of data security becomes even more paramount and complex as our present office environment becomes increasingly automated. Managers will have to be versatile and innovative in "juggling" the demands of technology, information and people. The threats to security become even more numerous as systems increase in complexity.
