Research on dynamic heat transfer of a power-split hybrid electric vehicle

Heat load is one of the most crucial problems of the hybrid electric vehicle research. In this paper, a thermal management system applied on a power-split hybrid electric vehicle is proposed. A dynamic heat transfer model of this system based on lumped parameter method is established. A whole vehicle driving cycle simulation is explored to evaluate the validity of the model. Simulation results show that the thermal management system applied to the power-split hybrid electric vehicle can fulfil the heat dissipation requirement of powertrain heat components under different driving conditions. The dynamic heat transfer model can be used to predict the dynamic response of the power-split hybrid electric vehicle heat source components effectively.
