Two single channels’ signal is compounded to one vector signal by the vector-spectrum theory,and the theory could reflect the real condition of vibration of a rotor in certain section.Based on vector-spectrum method,the concept of vector amplitude-frequency figure and vector waterfall figure is established.The data used is collected with Bently rotor equipment.As two kinds of starting-stopping analytic tools,compared to the single channel amplitude frequency figure and waterfall figure,It has been shows that vector amplitude frequency figure and vector-waterfall figure take on more accurate and more clear vibration amplitude of the vibration.The question of the large difference of two channels' amplitude is worked out.It helps to more accurate fault diagnosis.It is useful in large machinery starting-stopping fault diagnosis.
