The invention relates to the fields of integrated circuit design and image coding of microelectronics. A focal plane image compression device based on a CMOS image sensor aims to make compressed codes after entropy coding directly obtained at an output terminal of a CIS and to make the compressed codes directly stored or transmitted without secondary processing. According to the technical scheme, the focal plane image compression device based on the CMOS image sensor is composed of a pixel array, a reading and correlated double sampling circuit, a predictive coding circuit, a sequential circuit, an analog-digital converter and an entropy coding circuit. A pixel value is firstly transmitted to the reading and correlated double sampling circuit for correlated double sampling to eliminate fixed-pattern noise, a predictive value is solved by the predictive coding circuit, analog-digital conversion is conducted on the predictive value and the pixel value through the analog-digital converter, difference operation on the predictive value and the pixel value is finished by a column level digital subtracter of an entropy coding module to obtain a residual value, and the eventually the residual value is coded through the entropy coding module. The focal plane image compression device is mainly applied to integrated circuit design.
