In this research, moment expression of Francis runner is derived in vorticity dynamics type firstly, diagnose method based on vorticity dynamics is also introduced. Then, numerical simulation is applied to turbine flow passage with all blades (from inlet of wicket gate to outlet of draft) using RNG k-e turbulence model with RANS method. With computational results, BVF (Boundary Vorticity Flux) and skin friction distributions on blades and draft tube walls are worked out; flow in Francis hydraulic turbine is estimated by vorticity dynamics method. Compared with traditional analysis method and experimental data, practicability of vorticity dynamics is confirmed.Copyright © 2006 by ASME
