The Application of Hub-and-spoke Network in Chinese Aeronautic Transportation

Hub-and-spoke network is already one well-studied problem, which is related to locating hub facilities and allocating non-hub nodes to hubs in order to route the traffic between origin-destination pairs. In this paper, the hub-and-spoke network is applied to the design of the net structure of aeronautic transportation. The mixed integer linear program model relating to hub-and-spoke network is introduced. Geometric rounding is applied to the computation of the allocation problem in Chinese aeronautic transportation network. And then it is decided how to organize the aeronautic transportation in the lowest cost. Finally, the computation based on the statistic data shows that geometric rounding is able to acquire a good effect on the design of the structure of the Chinese aeronautic network.
