Distributed generation (DG) islanding is usually analyzed and tested using RLC loads. In this paper, the performance of inverter based DG during an islanding condition is analyzed taking into account the different load models (constant impedance, constant power and constant current). The DG is operated as constant power source operating at unity power factor. The effect of voltage and frequency dependence of system load on performance of an islanded system fragment is also examined. Based on computer simulation, the active powerpsilas load dependence parameters have the most significant effect. It is shown that the ldquonon-detection zonerdquo is affected by both load voltage and frequency dependence.
