Textural information from the retinal nerve fibre layer in multiple sclerosis*

This study aims to investigate if textural information is present in optical coherence tomography (OCT) data of multiple sclerosis (MS) patients, and age-matched healthy controls (HC), within the retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL). Our findings suggest that the found texture differences in the RNFL’s structure yield additional information to the one provided by the measurements of RNFL thickness, the most commonly exploited metric in OCT-based neurodegeneration studies.
