Local Pattern Analysis

It is clear that local pattern analysis provides a new way to deal with multidatabase mining problems. The local pattern analysis in this book is inspired by competition in sports. For the convenience of the reader, the terms of local instance, local pattern, global pattern, and local pattern analysis are formally defined in this chapter. We then go on to develop techniques for identifying novel patterns (high-vote patterns) in multi-databases by analyzing local patterns.
